Mountain Murals offered an awesome tour for our residents. A small group had a great time learning more about the murals and their creators. Consensus was that Krista has truly done her research and therefore had a wealth of information to share about the artists and the artwork. Unfortunately we didn't know that our two residents in motorized chairs would have to use tablets to see, as the view from their seats on the bus were obstructed. One said they would still have gone, the other wasn't quite as positive. Overall we will work with Mountain Mural again!

Today we gathered 12 friends and family to fill the bus. It was an exceptional experience. With husband and wife team Krista and Lewis we navigated the city streets learning about the artists that share their inspiration with us all. The 12 of us live here in AVL and most of us have been here 20+ years. It helps to embrace the current culture. I loved the stories Krista and Lewis told. Do yourself a favor and reserve your spot on the Mountain Murals tour bus!

Great tour! Knowledgeable and FUN guides; a glimpse of major areas of Asheville, with focus on the abundant AMAZING street art that stands out everywhere. Murals on walls; murals in alleys; murals lining parking lots; murals hiding way up high! These guides point out them all, and also tell about the artists, their concepts, their styles, their techniques! Very informative, and fun.

Krista and Lewis gave an energetic tour of Ashville murals. They bounced back and forth with info, feeding each other. Lewis drove the comfortable van around town while Krista pointed the art out. Other than the art, both tour operators informed us about Ashville and its history. The tour included a stop at Urban Orchard Cider and finished on Foundy St.---in the middle of the town's art district. Loved the couple and loved the tour. Go---you'll love it!

I took my family, who was visiting from out of town, on this tour and everyone really enjoyed it! We learned so much about the history of Asheville (and of course the murals!) It was a hot day and it was so nice to ride around in the air conditioned bus. The bus was very comfortable and the windows allowed you to see a lot more of the murals than you can see from a car. I had my father with me who has some health problems and he really appreciated the fact that he really didn't have to walk far. I do like to walk, however, and was happy that there were two stops on the tour where you could get off the bus. Really enjoyed stopping at the cider place called Urban Orchard for drink, food and bathroom breaks!! Thank you to The Hosts, Krista and Lewis. Really enjoyed your tour and your rapport! I would recommend this tour to anyone, since it is such a nice, behind-the-scenes tour of Asheville!

I learned SO much while on the Mountain Mural Tour in Asheville this week. I am a great fan of murals in cities where I have traveled, and this tour was a fun way to learn about and see many of the murals around town. Krista has obviously done a lot of research and talked to many of the mural artists. She shared stories about murals related to the history of Asheville, as well as many of the whimsical and clever artwork seen. Krista's husband Lewis drove the small, comfortable bus and added comments (and humor) as well. We had a short break at the Urban Orchard Cider Co. West before we continued on through West Asheville. We returned to our starting point in River Arts District where all of the buildings are covered with artwork. Since I work with clay, my favorite mural is Day Dreamer, located on Aston St on a wall of the Aloft Hotel. This mural is made 3 dimensional with the addition of ceramic tiles, a style different from most of other murals. This tour is a great way to learn more about some of Asheville’s outdoor art, and is highly recommended.

I am a travel agent, and one of my niches is senior travel. When I went on this tour, I was accompanying 3 ladies over the age of 70, 2 of whom have had knee replacement surgery. I was delighted to find this tour, because I knew they wouldn't have to do a lot of walking. Little did I know how entertaining and informational it would be - we LOVED it! We traveled all over Asheville, seeing and learning about the city's street art, graffiti and murals, many of which were commissioned by the city or by individual property owners. I've traveled to Asheville many times over the last 20 years, and this tour gave me insight and information that I never got from just walking around the city on my own. Learning about the artists was a nice touch, especially learning about their styles so we could recognize their work as we rode through different neighborhoods. The art is always changing, so there's always something new to see. I knew that Asheville has long been a haven for artists, but had no idea that the art community runs so strong and deep. I would highly recommend this tour for any age, and for casual visitors and Asheville residents alike, because the information gained is great!SIDEBAR - The "pit stop" at the Urban cidery was a nice touch, since it gave us a chance to sample some local refreshments and interact more with other passengers on the tour.

This was a great tour for my husband and me. We were visiting our daughter in Asheville and this was the perfect afternoon activity! We saw lots of fascinating artwork and got a great cultural tour of Asheville. Krista and Lewis were wonderful hosts and the bus was comfortable and cool. We also enjoyed the stop for Cider!
